Daily Doodle Bug a Day 17

Inside the head where mysteries are solved,
a swirling vortex of statistics unfolds.
Constant reprogramming of grey matter in the mix,
zeros and ones form a contorting matrix.
So push the button to avoid procrastination,
and warm up to the idea of some new information.

Daily Doodle Bug a Day 16

Piggybacking on a bug all the way across town,
a block at a time's the only way to get round.
You need some big shoes to keep you on your feet,
you don't want to trip or your rider will eat it.
With a tail being useful to distribute the balance,
making it to the next building is sure to be a challenge.

Daily Doodle Bug a Day 15

Step into the tank, the all terrain vehicle,
if you make it pass the front-line it's sure to be a miracle.
Though you must understand the dangers that unfold,
if make you make it all the way to the end, your legend's sure to be told.
Better put that helmet on, though, just in case,
you never know, in the blast zone, your head's sure to be erased.

Daily Doodle Bug a Day 14

The candle's hour's blazing down to a close,
where does it burn to? nobody knows,
but this spiny night watchman is off on a click,
ready to light up another candle wick,
then another bright hour can start up again,
lighting the way with a fresh burning flame.

Daily Doodle Bug a Day 13

Taffy production's a serious profession,
spinning ingredients to make into confection.
With sugar & butter, it's pulled until glossy,
this lip smacking goodness is now candied toffee.
You want to know its yummy taste? here's all the proof,
just check out his gummy mouth, lacking in tooth.

Daily Doodle Bug a Day 12

catching glitch bugs ain't no easy scene,
but operators are assisted by video screen,
plugged into sonar to help scour the land,
and a crew, to lend aid, to the task at hand,
but what does it do with the critters it finds,
it instructs those bugs to help out with its rhymes.

Daily Doodle Bug a Day 11

the horsewing can't fly, all its weight's on the ground,
but it can run fast, in circles, round and round.
one pilot controls speed and velocity,
the other, direction, so it wont hit a tree.
but if it sprints, spinning, in arcs all day,
there's nothing that's going to get in harms way.

Daily Doodle Bug a Day 10

a prickly little fella, a beast unleashed,
nose upturned to sniff out the feast.
the joystick's controlled with a flick of the wrist,
to steer it away from the oncoming mist.
but the haze contains the delicacy he seeks,
a wholesome nutrition to sustain it for weeks.

Daily Doodle Bug a Day 9

skirting the waist, the tentacles writhe,
proboscis snout cleans out the insides.
what's that thing wrapped round its neck?
you better go ask it, you might want to check.
i don't think the creature's got nasty intentions,
it's just blowing bubbles to release all the tension.

Daily Doodle Bug a Day 8

shake you head, give your shoulders a shrug,
you wont believe your eyes; it's the birdie bug.
tail between its legs, slippers on its feet,
candy coloured stripes on its soft round beak.
breastplate to protect its pulpy, pappy insides,
jump on its back for a frightening, flightless joyride!

Daily Doodle Bug a Day 7

a tube from its head creates serious motion,
a display like a fountain or volcano explosion.
collecting these droplets to brew up a potion,
a sinister look, a small act of devotion.
swirling the broth whilst devoid of emotion,
but are all these just steps for a sinister notion?

Daily Doodle Bug a Day 6

to fly and have the wind through its hair,
it's the beast with the ribbons but lacking in flair.
propelled along with jets from its feet,
and wings that flap around with a beat.
how does it stay up? this brute in the sky,
you gaze up in wonder as you watch it fly by.

Daily Doodle Bug a Day 5

it appears when you peer down a butterwings snout,
shed a tear when you fear, but you shouldn't doubt.
stingers on its rear make you yelp with a shout.
the last time you were here your lips formed a pout.
what do you see there? what's it about?
you hope it's not baked rare, it's not gristle or grout.

Daily Doodle Bug a Day 4

one horn above, one horn below,
a dive from midsection to put on a show.
psyched and angry & ready to pounce,
with that escape it weighs less than an ounce.
now it will chase the renegade at a pace,
whilst licking its lips at the thought of the taste.

Daily Doodle Bug a Day 3

draped and dressed in hoodie and cloak,
arm stretches and twines round some kind of young folk.
but the pack it contains something quite strange,
what is it? you ask, is it some kind of cage?
to capture, to keep, the kids he will seek,
but the youngsters are smart enough to cheat it.

Daily Doodle Bug a Day 2

step up to the beast and into it's stirrups,
with ears that big there's no need to fear it.
settle into the saddle then reach for the reins,
the hair from its nose stripped bare from its mane.
gallop off at a trot, gallop off cross the plain,
are you ready or not? will your rear withstand the pain?

Daily Doodle Bug a Day 1

DAILY DRAWING DOODLE BUG A DAY CHALLENGE!!!

Ok, today's the 15th of March, lets call it day #1.
I'll post a character a day till next 15th- the 15th of April.
Maybe even continue after that, if I have enough comments or requests, I could go on forever!!
Hopefully I'll write a little blurb, poem, description, comment or name about the daily doodle bug character.
All characters are created spontaneously the only predetermination is portrait (usually bipedal) or landscape (usually quadra+legged), that's if they have any legs at all!!

squid kid with tendrils and plaited mo,
rescuing his mate from getting flushed below.
if only he'd thought to use his pouch that day,
maybe poor fishy wouldn't have got away.
now it's flipping and flapping away on the ground,
quickly squid kid, save poor fishy, turn round!

Progress Post

Heres some progress shots of new paintings currently being finished.
Emphasizing high saturated colour & colour contrast with each character getting their own story and landscape setting.
Most pieces are half way finished so check back soon for the finished product.
